For your consideration, we have a 1948 matching numbers, fully restored, Ford Woody. A currently registered and titled California car. Purchased by the current owner in 1968. This Woody has gone through a complete frame off restoration and has a great history even being featured in surfer magazine back in the early 60s.
The exterior maintains most of its original wood and the paint is period correct for the car. The chrome trim set is complete and has great shine to it. The fit and gap all around is excellent. The doors all open and shut very nicely and the glass is clear and not cracked. The car shows no rust obviously as having gone through the restoration process. This Woody is truly a sight to behold.
The brown leather interior is also period correct and shows no signs of wear or tear. The dash is lovely with all gauges in working order. The interior electrical is all working, the horn, wipers (needs blades), brake lights, sidelights, headlights are all functional. Although missing its third seat this does allow for more cargo room for those trips to the beach.
From cold this woody fires right up. The V-8 engine sounds healthy without any unwanted noises, shows good oil pressure and it does not overheat. The speedo and tach both seem to read accurately. The steering is tight and responsive, and the gearbox feels really good, and easily and smoothly shifts in and out from gear to gear. The brakes feel great and the pedal feels good and upon braking it pulls up straight.
Overall this Woody is an excellent driver. A fully restored, rust free, lovely looking Woody that will surely put a smile on your face and turn heads driving around the town. As always, I would advise inspecting the car in person if at all possible. Please call for an appointment or with any questions you may have, (310)833-1525 Monday-Friday 7am to 5pm Pacific time.
